Character Counts When Caring for Animals

Students in Ms. Hoffman's third grade class at Garfield Elementary displayed great character during the months of March and April. This small but mighty group of third graders launched a schoolwide fund-raising campaign for the Valley Animal Center. The Valley Animal Center is a "no kill" shleter serving our community by paying for Veterinary bills, spaying and neutering aboandoned aminals and providing food to the animals in need. Ms. Hoffman's third graders created animal themed collection buckets for each classroom at Garfield including the LMC and the office. Every classroom at Garfield Elementary participated in the fund-raiser and were able to raise $1522.76! Ms. Hoffman personally delivered the money to the center and in turn, the center made a special visit to Ms. Hoffman's class on April 16th. Way to go Caring Cubs!!!
