Acceptance and Understanding of All

In the school's effort to promote acceptance, understanding, and interaction of ALL students, there is an ongoing effort to educate students as to understanding the needs of ALL students - specifically students wtih disabilities, students of different races, relgions, cultures, and genders.  Additionally, Garfield is focused on the utilization of 2nd Step in all classrooms as their schoolwide Character Education Program integrated into the classrooms.  Garfield also has a Student Discipline Action Plan and monitors the effectiveness of the plan making changes as necessary based on referrals regarding students with disablities, students of different races, cultures, and gender.
