Welcome to Garfield Elementary—home of the Cubs!

It is an absolute honor to serve as the principal of this exceptional school community, where students, families, and staff work together each day to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. At Garfield, we believe that every child can thrive when they are supported, challenged, and inspired—and we are proud to walk alongside our students on their educational journey.

Garfield Elementary is proud to host the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program for the entire Clovis Unified School District, and we are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion where every child’s unique strengths are celebrated. After completing sixth grade, our students continue on to Alta and Buchanan, well-prepared to embrace the next chapter with confidence and pride.

Our school motto for the 2025–26 school year says it all: “Garfield Cubs, we're here to stay. Red, white, blue every day. Go Cubs!” This spirit of unity, pride, and perseverance is woven into every aspect of campus life.

At Garfield, we emphasize the development of the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our ROAR to SUCCESS program, rooted in Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), helps students and staff live out our four core values each day:

We know that when students feel safe, respected, and encouraged, they are empowered to learn at their highest potential.
