Welcome to the Garfield Elementary School website, home of the Cubs! My name is Jennifer Bump and I am excited to be the principal at Garfield for the fifth year. I have spent twenty-six years serving in Clovis Unified, ten of which have been in the Bear Nation. In addition to being an administrator, I have also been a teacher and a counselor within our school district. I have been married for twenty-five years and have a son who is a graduate of CUSD and currently a senior in college at Point Loma Nazarene University. In my free time, I love to practice yoga, read, and shop. I love the Garfield community and look forward to coming to work each day to work with your students!
The 2020-2021 school motto is “Everything is better when CUBS are together!” While we prefer to be together in person, we are committed to providing high quality distance learning. Garfield students and staff are unified in their commitment to excellence in mind, body, and spirit. Whether in the classroom, in the home, on the field, or in the community, you will see Cubs demonstrating perseverance, class, and high standards. We are exceptionally proud of being honored with the Civic Learning Award of Merit and Bonner School of Character Awards. Last year Garfield were also selected as a CUSD Platinum Level PBIS school and recognized as a Common Sense School focusing on digital citizenship for students. Giving back to our community is a priority at Garfield! We demonstrate this through many school and community service projects each year.
Garfield is blessed to be supported by a hard-working staff and dedicated parent community. The Cubs have a strong sense of family and school pride. We are excited for what this school year will bring and look forward to partnering with our generous Parent Teacher Club to support our academic, athletic, and co-curricular programs.
I look forward to getting to know your family as we work together to support our students for success.
